My grandma makes these every spring Sunday. You won’t believe it—this delicious treat takes just 3 simple ingredients and comes out soft, buttery, and irresistible every time. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy afternoon snack.
Ingredients:
2 cups self-rising flour
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
Instructions:
Preheat the oven:
Set your oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix flour and butter:
In a large bowl, combine the self-rising flour and cubed butter. Use a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the cream:
Pour in the heavy cream and gently stir until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overwork it—overmixing can make the biscuits dense.
Shape the biscuits:
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Use a round cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake to golden perfection:
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden and the biscuits are cooked through.
Serve warm:
Enjoy fresh out of the oven with butter, jam, or honey. These biscuits are best served warm!
Tips & Variations:
Cheesy twist: Add 1/2 cup shredded cheddar to the dough for extra flavor.
Sweet version: Brush the tops with a little honey or maple syrup for a sweet treat.
Make ahead: Freeze unbaked biscuits and bake straight from the freezer for a fresh treat anytime.
