For the Beef Layer:
- 1 lb ground beef 🥩
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced 🧄
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning 🌿
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
For the Potato Layer:
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced 🥔
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
For Topping:
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese 🧀
- ½ cup mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish 🌿
👩🍳 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook onion until softened, then add garlic and ground beef. Cook until browned.
- Season the beef with paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Add half of the cream mixture, then spread the beef mixture on top.
- Add the remaining potatoes and pour over the rest of the cream mixture.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil, sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
