🛒 What You’ll Need
1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
2 lbs chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
Juice of 1/2 lime
🥣 For the Consomé
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon lime juice
Salt to taste
Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Wings
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the wings dry with paper towels (this helps them get crispy). Place them in a large bowl.
2️⃣ Season
Add olive oil, sweet chili sauce, chili powder, paprika, cumin, oregano, coriander, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne, and lime juice. Toss until the wings are fully coated.
3️⃣ Bake
Arrange wings on a lined baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown.
(For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.)
Optional: You can also air-fry at 380°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes, shaking halfway.
🥘 Make the Consomé
In a small saucepan over medium heat, add beef broth, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, and garlic.
Simmer for 8–10 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
Stir in lime juice and adjust salt as needed.
Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
🍽️ Serve
Serve the hot birria wings with warm consommé on the side for dipping. Add extra lime wedges and chopped cilantro for fresh flavor.
Bold, saucy, and packed with spice — these Birria Wings with Consomé are guaranteed to impress!
